What are you UNSURE about?

What are you UNSURE about?

What are you UNSURE about?

Doubt arises when we do not believe in the truth of the subject. One of the problems with doubt is that we normally require proof of validity of the teachings. Yet the problem with this particular stance is that “the proof of the pie is in the eating”. If you do not eat it, no amount of description about the pie by another person will give you the taste of the pie.

In order to know this path, you must walk the path. Only then can you experience the truth of the teachings.

Even so, for those who require proof, there are ample examples of those who have walked the path and enjoyed its fruits. All the ancient sages knew and taught this truth. Deep down inside, even we ourselves know this to be true. Why else would we respect the achievements of these ancient sages if we do not think that their achievements are truly great? But it is a greatness we ourselves can achieve as well. We just need to walk this less traveled but proven path.

The antidote for doubt is faith – is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.

Create a list of the things you doubt. Arrange them with the one with greatest consequence on top of the list and the smallest at the bottom. Then confront them in a sensible way and slowly walk yourself up the list until you have sufficient faith to overcome each of the doubt.

So then how do you build faith? Faith cometh by hearing! Prepare to learn from those who have walked the path, and learning can be one-on-one, group, remote. Open your hearts to learn and be willing unlearn what you have learned that is not helping your faith.

Learn to heed the call of your heart; I have learned that the safest path is not always the best path and I have learned that the voice of fear is not always to be trusted.
